The Black Crow

For reversing curses, breaking spiritual attacks, removing evil eye, and casting back all baneful works. 

"What the crow sees, it carries. What the crow carries, it buries. What was sent is returned. What clung is burned." 

Ingredients:

  • 1 black feather (crow feather ideal, but dyed chicken or found black feather will do) 
  • Pinch of graveyard dirt 
  • A handful of black salt 
  • Agrimony
  • Rue
  • Black cumin seeds
  • Fennel
  • Dragons blood incense
  • Black Crow oil (black hen oil or a mix of uncrossing, reversing, protection & dragons blood oil)
  • A mirror turned face-down 
  • 1 white candle (for clarity) 
  • 1 Crow candle or black candle (for uncrossing, reversal, protection and banishment) 
  • Your own spit, blood pricked from finger, or hair (to bind your power)
  • Hekate Alexeatis Psalm (below) 
  • An image or name-paper of the person or condition you are reversing 

Timing:

  • On a Saturday during the Waning Moon, ideally at dusk 
  • Work during the Hour of Saturn or Mars if you're dealing with ongoing hostility 
  • Begin near crossroads, threshold, or in your working space 

The Spell:

Set the Space: Call your spirits, ancestors, and the the Black Crow, as your ally in uncovering hidden harm and carrying it away. 

Invoke Hekate:

Psalm to Hekate Alexeatis, She Who Averts Evil

O Hekate Alexeatis, Shield of the Witch, Guardian at the Threshold, I call to You who turns aside the poison path.

 You who see the shadow before it strikes, You who cast back the eye that envies, You who make the hex unwind, Stand before me now with torches blazing.

 By your crossroads I am claimed. By your keys I am locked from harm. By your hounds I am guarded, And no evil shall cross the circle you draw.

 O Witch Queen, Breaker of Curses, Turn the foul word to ash. Reflect the malice back to its maker. Wrap me in the cloak of your unseen light. 

 Let no footstep follow me unbidden. Let no spirit near me without your mark. Let no tongue wag against me Without tasting your justice.

 Where your name is spoken, No darkness can dwell. Where your eye is fixed, No evil can root.

 I give offerings at your altar, And walk in the light of your warding fire. I fear no curse, no ill intent, For Hekate Alexeatis walks with me.

 Three times three I am sealed, By torch, by key, by dagger, Under your dominion, Safe and sovereign.  

Prepare the Crow Candle (or black candle): Cleanse and bless the candle in the smoke of the dragons blood incense. 

Carve the name or situation that is causing you issues onto the candle and all the issues you want removed. 

Hold the candle in your hands and whisper all you want to send back. 

Visualize the candle turning on like a vacuum and rub it down your body (from head downward), especially your crown, the back of your neck, and soles of feet, drawing out sickness, evil eye, spiritual attachment, and hexes. Say:  

"Crow of midnight, bird of might, Take what clings and make it right. From bone and blood, from heart and head, All their poison now is shed."  

Mix all the herbs together with the black salt, graveyard dirt and the ash from the  burnt black feather. 

Prepare the name paper/photo like usual and anoint with the oil and herb mixture. Fold away from you while stating all the things you are sending back and uncrossing. 

Anoint the black crow candle with the oil and the herb mixture. Sprinkle the herb mixture around the plate the candle is sitting on and place the name paper under the plate but on top of the face down mirror. Drop your blood or spit on the top of the candle.  

Candle Work: Burn the black crow candle dressed with oil & herbs while visualizing all that energy being sent away. Chant for some time putting a lot of feeling and emotion into it:  

"Feather of crow, claw of night, Carry this curse out of my sight. As the crow flies far and free, What was sent returns to thee." 

Allow the black candle to burn all the way out or snuff it out and relight each day (repeating the chant) until the candle burns all the way out. 

Follow it by lighting the white candle, saying:  

"Now let me rise clean and bright, Bathed in truth, blessed in light. No harm can hold, no fear can stay, My path is clear; I walk away."  

Once everything is complete and the spell is done seal it with the Witches Prayer: 

 "Hail Hekate, Queen of Witches, 

Sacred in our sight. Let magic flow, True Will to know.

On earth, as in realms beyond the veil. Grant us this day, the power to wield Thy flame

Bless our steps on sacred paths,

Release all bindings that hold us fast. Lead us through the crossroads, 

guard us with Thy light,

Deliver us from hidden harm, 

and from all enemies' sight. For Thine is the Torch, the Key, the Gate,

The Wisdom, the Will, the Power to Create. 

Forevermore, in dark and flame,

We honor and praise Thy Holy Name."  

Disposal:  

Wrap the candle remains and the name paper in black cloth and bury at a crossroads or beneath a thorn tree, somewhere off your property. 

Leave a coin for the spirits as payment. 

Do not look back. 

Optional Spirit Offering:

Leave a small black bowl of water and shiny coins or corn as thanks to the Crow Spirit, and ask it to be your scout and protector moving forward.
